Apex Dynamics launches new product range aboard The Gearbus at Machine Building Live

Engineering Industry News

Birmingham, 3rd October 2023 – Apex Dynamics is attending this year’s Machine Building Live expo in a unique way to pre-launch new products, including the MD and MF series of high precision gearboxes. The world leader in servo gearbox technologies is parking its innovative Gearbus outside the show and attendees will be able to climb aboard to see the displays, examine three new product ranges the company is introducing to the UK market, and experience the dynamic demos on board.

Having already taken The Gearbus on the road around the UK and Ireland, with a further tour planned early next year, Apex Dynamics UK is now bringing it to Machine Building Live. The Gearbus is a new way of showcasing Apex Dynamics UK’s range of motion control solutions. It is a 7.5-tonne box truck that has been fully refitted internally and externally, complete with eye-catching graphic wraps on the outside and dynamic demos on board, including an impressive demonstration of precise synchronisation control using a fragile 0.5mm pencil lead and two counter rotating discs each controlled by a servo set up.

Apex Dynamics UK unveils brand new product ranges at Machine Building Live

Taking pride of place on The Gearbus and making their debut at Machine Building Live are the MD and MF ranges of gearboxes, both of which are suitable for medium precision applications in machine tool control (including robotics and automation projects where 3 arc minutes backlash is appropriate). The high value, low backlash gearbox series come with right angled versions (MDK, MFK) and an MDS shaft output version. Available in a range of sizes and options, the MD and MF gearboxes deliver high rigidity, high torque, high precision and high efficiency, all with the persistence of low backlash and long lifetime.

The MD and MF ranges are making their UK debut at the show alongside Apex Dynamics UK’s new G-series of helical gearboxes and its servo worm gearbox range, both of which pre-launched in the UK just last month at the PPMA Show 2023. Developed in four variants to meet differing application requirements across a variety of industry sectors, the highly adaptable, compact G-series geared motors range offers brake, encoder and force vent varieties, and foot, face, flange or torque arm mounting options, alongside better transmission efficiency and a wide power range. With improved reliability and precision rotary motion, the high precision right angle Servo Worm gearbox offers reduced noise, vibration and movement from load changes, speed changes, cutting, corotation, and reverse.

Mike Gulliford, Managing Director of Apex Dynamics UK says: “It is great to be able to demonstrate our exciting new products directly to machine builders, systems integrators and OEM engineers, and all the Apex Dynamics product ranges on display at Machine Building Live come complete with our market-leading 5-year warranty and 2-3 week lead times.

“We have taken The Gearbus up and down the country, with many people telling us how surprised they are when they go into the bus and see what’s there, including real products and dynamic demos. The Gearbus is designed to provide a mobile exhibition of Apex Dynamics’ UK products and was born out of an idea for a convenient demo facility that can go to any site, taking problem solving straight to where it is needed. We can simply park it up at exhibitions, running off its solar battery system, to give show visitors the chance to see something a bit different and really get to know our products.

“We want as many people as possible at Machine Building Live to get the chance to see The Gearbus. If you are at the show, please jump on board and come and talk to our expert team of engineers about your motion control needs. If you are not able to attend the show, get in touch with Apex Dynamics UK and perhaps we can arrange for a visit by The Gearbus to your site.”
