One of the wire sector’s strongest transatlantic partnerships has sealed another record-breaking year in North America.
Alloy Wire International (AWI), which has manufacturing facilities in the West Midlands and Yorkshire, has sent over £3.5m of round, flat and profile wire to customers in this part of the world over the last twelve months.

The company has built a strategic relationship with Davidon Alloys, who has been showcasing its 62-strong range of exotic alloys to clients involved in oil and gas, automotive and space.
Demand appears to be growing as well, with tens of new clients looking to tap into AWI’s technical knowledge to meet complex applications.
Oliver Smith, Sales Executive at Alloy Wire International, picked up the story: “Our partnership works really well, as we share similar values of manufacturing quality, unrivalled delivery times and exceptional customer service.
“By working together, we now supply more than £3.5m of wire to customers in this territory every year – the best performance in our history.”
He continued: “We’ve just been over there for a series of meetings and it’s always a pleasure spending time with our partners Davidon Alloys, who has been representing us in Canada and the US for 23 years now.
“It gives us the perfect opportunity to meet customers and, importantly, share new advancements in the sector and buying trends that can sometimes be a lot different to back home in the UK.”
Alloy Wire International manufactures round, flat and profile wire in 62 Exotic alloys, such as Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Nimonic and Waspaloy.
The company’s founding principles of ‘manufacturing quality, delivering reliability’ has stood the test of time and remains a crucial part of how it deals with its international customer base.
Today, the firm continues to supply 6000 customers across 15 different market sectors and, despite global supply chain disruption, is still delivering material in just three weeks from the order being placed.
A £1m investment drive has been completed to strengthen its market-leading position, with the installation of new wet drawing and single hole dry drawing machines, not to mention an annealing line spooler.
Davidon Alloys’ Michelle Nichols concluded: “It’s always great to have the UK guys over and spend time in their company, soaking up the latest developments from AWI. I know from chatting to our US customers that they really appreciate in-depth, face-to-face technical conversations with the team from the factory.”
