This years theme is “Together We Engineer”. Comment from Tanya Channing, Chief People and Culture Officer, Pipedrive.

“Most software engineers are thinking deeply about AI: using it, improving it, or defending against it being used by bad actors. Engineering isn’t about solitary problem-solving any more. AI leverages people power at scale, and benefits from diverse minds coming together to build technologies that scale globally to solve human problems.
“Yet, women remain underrepresented across all STEM fields, particularly in senior technical roles. The issue isn’t talent; it’s access, visibility, and a need for inclusive cultures that support women through every stage of their careers. Inclusion is a growth driver and a prerequisite for great innovation.
“If we encourage girls and women who love solving puzzles, creating, or improving things to join an engineering field we can engineer a better future together using diverse voices and more equitable outcomes. I see AI not just as a technological breakthrough, but potentially as an equaliser. The rapid evolution of AI transforms how we build, test, and optimise, creating new opportunities for us to shape the future.
“AI is levelling barriers by valuing skills like data literacy, ethical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. These are areas where diverse perspectives are essential. For women entering or advancing in engineering, this means a broader range of entry points and faster career mobility, especially in AI-focused roles like machine learning ops, prompt engineering, or responsible AI governance.”
