Reflective Sensor Technology

Engineering Industry News

The central component of the BEPC reflective technology architecture is an innovative system-on-chip optical device. This device integrates a blue LED emitter and a sensor into a single package,
accompanied by a range of on-chip programmable encoder functions. This cutting-edge reflective
technology offers significant benefits over the traditional optical transmissive approach typically
employed in encoders:

  1. Compact Design: our reflective technology enables an exceptionally compact design. Unlike
transmissive technology, which necessitates two separate PCB assemblies, this technology
requires only a single PCB assembly. This reduction in hardware complexity and space
    requirements is a notable advantage.
  2. Signal Clarity and Precision: The inclusion of a blue LED with a short wavelength in the
integrated package enhances signal contrast and minimizes jitter. Furthermore, the proximity
of the emitter and sensor within the same assembly significantly reduces optical crosstalk. As
a result, this technology offers superior resolution, accuracy, and overall performance
    compared to traditional encoders.
  3. Versatile Position Detection: Unlike many magnetic encoders that rely on magnets positioned
at the end of the encoder shaft to detect position, reflective technology enables off-axis
position detection. This versatility allows for a wider range of mounting options, including
those suitable for thru-bore style shafts.
The Model A36RTB (thru-bore) or A36RHB (blind hollow bore) offers a high-performance solution to
your absolute feedback needs. Its innovative blue LED and reflective sensor technology deliver
accurate high-resolution feedback in a compact thru-bore housing. The XXL multi-turn option adds a
low-power turns-counting circuit offering a variety of backup options including BEPC’s embedded
battery cable, which has a long-life battery built directly into the controller-end of the cable.
